Make a lasting impact on the lives of young people living in Residential Care
Multiple permanent Part-Time Positions available
Houses are in the Bendigo area

About the role

Every day in residential care is different, but one thing remains the same—you'll have the opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of young people. Working alongside a supportive team, you'll provide therapeutic and restorative care in a safe, nurturing home environment while helping young people build confidence, resilience and life skills.

Our Residential Youth Workers are passionate, motivated and resilient professionals who act as positive role models for young people. They work collaboratively with colleagues to create safe, stable and nurturing home environments where young people can thrive. Success in this role requires excellent communication and relationship-building skills, the ability to maintain professional boundaries, and a therapeutic approach when supporting young people with complex needs.

Skills and experience

Knowledge of child and adolescent development, trauma and attachment.
Experience supporting young people with complex behaviours using therapeutic approaches.
The ability to remain calm, consistent and professional during crisis situations.
An understanding of the child protection system and residential care practice.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
A commitment to positive role modelling and maintaining professional boundaries.

You will also require one of the following

A preferred Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention qualification, including four (4) additional mandatory competencies units (Residential Care Skill Set)

A relevant Cert IV, Diploma or Bachelor including four (4) additional mandatory competencies units (Residential Care Skill Set).
