THE ROLE:
A new opportunity is now available for an Assistant House Supervisor to join our team based in Bendigo!
As an Assistant House Supervisor, you'll help lead a residential care home where children and young people feel safe, supported and empowered to thrive. Working closely with the House Supervisor, you'll provide guidance to Residential Care Workers, champion therapeutic care practices, and help create a stable, nurturing home environment that makes a real difference in young people's lives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the House Supervisor, and to the Residential Care Coordinator, you will:

Lead a Safe & Therapeutic Home Environment by supporting the daily operations of the home and providing guidance to Residential Care Workers to ensure high-quality care for young people.

Support Positive Outcomes for Young People through the delivery of therapeutic care, implementation of care plans, and promotion of education, life skills, cultural connection and community participation.

Build Strong Relationships & Partnerships by working collaboratively with young people, families, case managers, Child Protection and other key stakeholders.

Drive Quality Practice & Compliance by maintaining accurate records, managing incidents and risks, and ensuring adherence to policies, procedures and residential care standards.

Support Effective Household Management through oversight of budgeting, administration, rostering, property upkeep and the overall presentation of the home.

Promote Health, Safety & Wellbeing by fostering a safe environment for both young people and staff and complying with organisational and OH&S requirements.
This is a Full-Time ongoing opportunity based in Bendigo.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:
To be successful in this role, you will have:

A relevant Diploma qualification, including the four mandatory Residential Care competency units, or the ability to meet these requirements.

A strong understanding of Aboriginal cultures, values and communities, with an awareness of the challenges and strengths of Aboriginal children, young people and families.

Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring and supporting teams within a residential care or community services setting.

Proven ability to build positive relationships with young people and respond effectively to social, emotional and behavioural challenges.

Experience implementing behaviour support strategies and promoting positive outcomes for children and young people.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to complete reports and maintain accurate records.
You must have a:

Valid and current Driver’s Licence;

Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);

Valid Employee Working with Children Check;

Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (for risk assessed / client facing roles). MacKillop can assist successful candidates with their application.
