Our Custom Design & Fabrication team is growing — and we’re looking for a Mechanical Designer who loves solving real problems with smart, practical engineering.

We specialise in aluminium custom access platforms, fabricated equipment, Off-Highway solutions, and engineered products for mining and general industry.

We’ve just moved into a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility in Hazelmere, WA, and we’re ready to bring in a designer who wants variety, challenge, and the support of a highly collaborative team.

This Role Is Ideal For Someone Who:

Loves mechanical design and creating fabrication-ready documentation
Enjoys complex assemblies, real engineering challenges, and hands-on collaboration
Wants to work closely with fabrication, procurement, estimation, and site teams
Prefers a Perth-based role but is happy to visit site occasionally to understand how designs are used
Values practical, manufacturable solutions — not just theory

The Role: Mechanical Designer – Custom Design & Fabrication

This is not just drawing.
This is real engineering design, working end-to-end across concept development, 3D modelling, fabrication detailing, technical checks, and cross-team collaboration.

You’ll help bring client ideas, operational challenges, and concept sketches into robust engineered solutions that our workshop can build with confidence.

What You’ll Be Doing

Developing 3D models and fabrication-ready drawings (Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD)
Turning design briefs and client requirements into practical mechanical solutions
Applying engineering principles, calcs, and checks for function, strength, and manufacturability
Working closely with Estimation, BD, Engineering, Fabrication, and Procurement
Identifying design improvements that reduce cost, improve safety, or simplify build
Supporting junior team members when needed
Contributing to a high-quality, high-accuracy design environment

What You Bring

Required:

Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Strong 3D CAD capability (Inventor + AutoCAD)
Australian industry experience in mechanical design, fabrication, or manufacturing
Confidence designing complex assemblies, steel/aluminium structures, and components
Solid understanding of materials, tolerances, and manufacturing processes
Ability to interpret specs, load cases, and functional requirements

Nice to Have:

Aluminium fabrication experience
Exposure to structural or industrial equipment design
Bachelor’s degree or Cert IV in Drafting
DfM / DfA understanding
