SFDesign is a privately owned, multi-disciplinary engineering & design house located in Bentley. With a keen focus on delivering engineering designed solutions in the follow disciplines: Structural, Mechanical & Piping (SMP) for both browns & greens field projects, our current capability includes project management, engineering, design, 3D modelling, 2D drafting & laser scanning. SFDesign also offers consignment services of which our engineers/ designers work on our client's premises, as part of their team, on a project-by-project basis.

About the role and tasks
Your duties will include:
- Under the guidance of seasoned professionals, engineering, designing, modelling & drafting conforming to industry standards (e.g. mining equipment, structures & piping, etc.)
- Liaising with clients, Project Managers & leads to complete projects from concept to delivery.
- Interpreting & understanding project’s specific data including scopes, specification, vendor drawings & design data.
- Providing design solutions & practical technical support across civil, structural, mechanical, & piping disciplines to statutory & client requirements.
- Working in a team to complete & deliver detailed design work packages to the required quality & technical standard.
- Ensuring assigned work is delivered based on project schedules.
- Drafting for construction & ensuring design drawings comply with all relevant Australian & International standards.
- Creating Material take off, Bill of quantities & Bill of materials.
Selection Criteria
+ Mandatory
- Advanced Diploma or Diploma qualification in Design, Drafting, or Engineering.
- Min. 2 years of experience in a CAD design environment.
- Interest and experience in Structural, Mechanical & Piping (SMP)
- Demonstrate excellent verbal, written communication, & interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a collaborative & inclusive team environment.
- Must have the right to work full-time in Australia.
+ Desired
- Bachelor &/or Master of Engineering.
- SolidWorks Exam: CSWA, CSWP, CSWPA-SM, CSWPA-WD, CSWPA-DT (or equivalent experience)
- 3D modelling & drafting competency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, Tekla, AutoCAD, MicroStation)
- Comprehensive knowledge of Australian Standards.
- Understanding of design techniques, tools, & principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, & models.
- A fast learner with, ability to learn & apply specific skills & knowledge from a variety of formal & informal learning experiences.
- Excellent time management & organisational skills.

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
