Full Job Description

Latif Motors is seeking an experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team in Davoren Park, South Australia. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work with a respected automotive service provider. You will be at the heart of our operations, delivering high-quality mechanical repairs and maintenance services to our valued customers. This role is crucial to maintaining Latif Motors' reputation for excellence and customer satisfaction in the automotive industry.

What you'll be doing

Performing routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles, including oil changes, filter replacements, brake servicing, and suspension work
Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate testing equipment and tools
Conducting vehicle inspections and identifying areas requiring repair or maintenance
Replacing worn or faulty components with quality parts, ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards
Servicing engines, transmissions, and other mechanical systems to factory specifications
Maintaining detailed records of work completed and parts used for each vehicle
Ensuring all tools and workshop equipment are properly maintained and used safely
Communicating effectively with customers about repair requirements, timescales, and costs
Following all health and safety protocols and maintaining a clean, organised workshop environment
Staying up to date with technological advances in automotive repair and servicing

What we're looking for

A recognised qualification in automotive mechanics or equivalent trade certification
Proven experience working as a motor mechanic in a busy workshop environment
Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle systems, including engine, electrical, cooling, and brake systems
Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and service specifications
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and customer service skills
A current, valid driver's licence
A commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety in the workplace
Experience with computerised workshop management systems is advantageous
Knowledge of environmental regulations and waste disposal procedures in automotive repair is preferred
