Latif Motors is seeking an experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team in Davoren Park, South Australia. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work with a respected automotive service provider. You will be at the heart of our operations, delivering high-quality mechanical repairs and maintenance services to our valued customers. What you'll be doing
- Performing routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles, including oil changes, filter replacements, brake servicing, and suspension work
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate testing equipment and tools
- Conducting vehicle inspections and identifying areas requiring repair or maintenance
- Replacing worn or faulty components with quality parts, ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards
- Servicing engines, transmissions, and other mechanical systems to factory specifications
- Maintaining detailed records of work completed and parts used for each vehicle
- Ensuring all tools and workshop equipment are properly maintained and used safely
- Communicating effectively with customers about repair requirements, timescales, and costs
- Following all health and safety protocols and maintaining a clean, organised workshop environment
- Staying up to date with technological advances in automotive repair and servicing
What we're looking for
- A recognised qualification in automotive mechanics or equivalent trade certification
- Proven experience working as a motor mechanic in a busy workshop environment
- Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle systems, including engine, electrical, cooling, and brake systems
- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and service specifications
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- A current, valid driver's licence
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety in the workplace
- Experience with computerised workshop management systems is advantageous
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and waste disposal procedures in automotive repair is preferred
