The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Specialist Cardiac Physiologist (Echocardiographer) to join our Cardiac Physiologist Leadership Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.
Reporting to the Clinical Services Manager, you will provide clinical leadership to a team of Specialist Cardiac Physiologists while continuing to deliver high-quality echocardiography services. You will work closely with our Cardiologists, practice teams and leadership group to ensure the delivery of outstanding patient care, diagnostic excellence, operational efficiency and continuous service improvement.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Excellence
- Deliver high-quality echocardiography services in accordance with professional standards and best practice.
- Ensure accurate acquisition, interpretation and documentation of diagnostic data to support informed clinical decision-making.
- Maintain contemporary clinical knowledge and remain at the forefront of advances in cardiac ultrasound and diagnostic imaging.
Leadership and Team Development
- Provide day-to-day leadership, mentoring and clinical support to Specialist Cardiac Physiologists.
- Support the training, development and performance of students, graduates and clinical supervisors.
- Foster a positive, collaborative and high-performing team culture that encourages learning and accountability.
Patient and Referrer Experience
- Deliver exceptional patient care with a strong focus on service excellence.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with Cardiologists, referrers and internal stakeholders.
- Respond professionally to patient and referrer enquiries, feedback and complaints.
Quality, Safety and Clinical Governance
- Promote a culture of quality, safety and continuous improvement across clinical services.
- Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, accreditation standards and Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements.
- Identify, report and escalate equipment issues, clinical risks and improvement opportunities.
Service Improvement and Growth
- Contribute to workflow optimisation and service improvement initiatives.
- Support clinic growth through innovation and continuous improvement.
- Act as an ambassador for Advara HeartCare by promoting our services and living our values.
About You
You are a clinically accomplished and people-focused healthcare professional who enjoys leading others and making a positive impact. You combine strong clinical expertise with excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to delivering patient-centred care.
You are collaborative, adaptable and motivated to continuously improve both your own practice and the performance of your team.
Essential Requirements
- Current ASAR registration.
- Relevant professional accreditation in Echocardiography.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to travel between Advara HeartCare clinic locations as required.
Desirable
- Current CPR/Life Support certification.
- Previous experience leading or mentoring clinical teams.
- Knowledge of Medicare requirements relating to cardiac diagnostic testing.
- Experience using clinical systems including GE Ultrasound, Ticker Cardiology Reporting Platform and HealthTrack EMR.
