About the role

We have an opportunity for an Application Analyst to be part of our Application Platform Services, Technology & Communication Services Command. The Application Analyst reviews and analyses the organisations' business intentions, services, processes and information needs to identify changes that lead to business improvements. The Application Analyst is responsible for working with application developers and business representatives undertaking business analysis and requirements gathering activities to ensure project and business operations deliverables meet client requirements. Requirements may involve changes to business processes, provision of a new business solution or enhancements to existing systems and infrastructure.

What we are looking for:

Project Methodology Knowledge & Experience
Familiarity with recognised methodologies such as:
PRINCE2
Waterfall
Agile (SCRUM)
Strong Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
Comprehensive end‑to‑end understanding of SDLC
In‑depth expertise in the planning and analysis phases
Documentation & Process Mapping
Strong communication and business engagement skills
High attention to detail, proven documentation and service mapping abilities
Experience in working with business and vendor teams to analyse, and clearly document both technical and business processes Testing Capability
Ability to translate business requirements to execute effective test cases to support SDLC progression Workload & Quality Management
Proven ability to maintain productivity in high‑volume environments while upholding quality standards Continuous Improvement Mindset
Demonstrated drive for ongoing service and process improvement
Capable of working both independently and under direction Adaptability & Learning
Ability to quickly learn new concepts and adapt to changing environments

Role Focus
The primary focus of this role is application analysis, with occasional requirements to support development, testing, and administrative teams on an as-needed basis.
