About the Opportunity
ASC is seeking a commercially astute Procurement Specialist to join our Procurement team in Western Australia. In this role, you will manage sourcing activities, purchase orders, supplier performance, and contract outcomes across a diverse portfolio, helping deliver value-for-money solutions that support Australia's maritime capability.
Working within a complex and highly regulated environment, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure procurement activities meet cost, quality, schedule, and governance requirements.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Managing purchase orders and supplier performance across assigned contracts.
- Conducting sourcing and procurement activities to achieve best-value outcomes.
- Supporting supplier qualification, evaluation, and engagement processes.
- Negotiating commercial and contractual arrangements with suppliers.
- Monitoring supplier performance against delivery, quality, and commercial requirements.
- Managing low to medium-risk sourcing activities and contract portfolios.
- Working closely with technical, engineering, and operational stakeholders to understand procurement requirements.
- Identifying and mitigating procurement and supplier-related risks.
- Ensuring procurement activities comply with relevant legislation, governance requirements, and company policies.
- Delivering procurement outcomes that meet budget, schedule, and quality expectations.
About you
To be successful, you will bring:
- A qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Commerce, Contract Management, or a related discipline, and/or significant procurement experience.
- Minimum five years' experience in Defence, resources, engineering, construction, or similarly complex contract environments.
- Strong contract management and commercial negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated experience managing supplier relationships and performance.
- Sound understanding of procurement processes, sourcing activities, and contract establishment.
- Experience identifying and managing procurement and supplier risks.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to work across technical and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency using procurement systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
