Epilogue Enterprises is searching for a Full-Time Chef!
Situated in the heart of picturesque Alice Springs (NT), we operate Page 27 Café and Tropic of Capricorn, beloved by locals and tourists alike for breakfast, lunch, dinner, cocktails, and live music.
The offered chef position is an amazing opportunity for someone creative and dynamic to come up with new menu ideas for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The responsibilities of the role are:
· Preparing, cooking and presenting high quality dishes within the speciality section.
· Full awareness of all menu items, their recipes, methods of production and presentation standards.
· Taking care with portions and waste to ensure profits remain positive. Able to estimate the daily production needs and checking the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.
· Takes care of daily food preparation and duties assigned by the superiors to meet the standard and the quality set by the Restaurant.
· Have excellent knowledge of menu creation, whilst maintaining quality and controlling costs in a volume food business.
· Coordinates daily tasks with the Sous Chef.
· Knowledge of all standard procedures and policies pertaining to food preparation, receiving, storage and sanitation.
· Following, and ensuring your team follows, food hygiene and occupational health and safety measures.
· Ensure effective communication between staff by maintaining a secure and friendly working environment.
· Establishing and maintaining effective inter-departmental working relationships.
· Maintain kitchen and food safety standards.
· Follow the instructions and recommendations from the immediate superiors to complete the daily tasks.
· Extensive experience in modern Australian cuisine (3-5 years)
· Minimum 1 year commitment
This will be a permanent full-time position starting with an annual salary range dependent on experience between $65K - $79K + super.
