About the opportunity:

The New Vehicle Sales Consultant is responsible for driving new vehicle sales at Chery Doncaster by delivering an exceptional customer experience and achieving individual and team sales targets. Working closely with the Sales Management team, you will engage with customers to understand their needs, present suitable vehicle options, and guide them through the sales process from initial enquiry to vehicle delivery.

This role is primarily based at the dealership and involves welcoming customers to the showroom, conducting vehicle demonstrations and test drives, preparing sales documentation, and maintaining strong product knowledge across the Chery range.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver an outstanding customer experience from first enquiry through to vehicle delivery.
Proactively engage with customers to understand their needs and recommend suitable Chery vehicles.
Conduct professional vehicle presentations and arrange test drives.
Achieve individual and team sales targets while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
Prepare and process sales documentation accurately and efficiently.
Maintain up-to-date product knowledge across the Chery range, including features, pricing, and promotions.
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and referrals.
Follow dealership processes and compliance requirements.
Support the broader dealership team as required to ensure smooth daily operations.

About you

You'll bring:

Proven experience in automotive sales, ideally within a dealership environment.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
Strong product knowledge and the ability to confidently present and sell vehicles.
A current driver’s licence and professional presentation.
A proactive attitude, resilience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.

Jowett Motor Group was born from the experience and forethought of Tony Jowett in 1995 with brands Audi, Volkswagen and Subaru, before opening Eastern Honda Doncaster in 2000 which remains today. This was followed by the greenfield development of Berwick BMW opening in late 2020 and the recent introduction of Berwick MINI Garage. 2021 marked the opening of Glenelg BMW and MINI Garage in South Australia with a full redevelopment of the Glenelg site underway - due for completion in the second half of 2025. In September 2024, JMG will officially take over all existing business operations in Canberra BMW - including Canberra MINI Garage and Canberra BMW Motorrad. The growth plan for JMG continues with the opening of Chery Doncaster in July 2024 and Chery Brighton in early 2025. The JMG Executive Team is committed to fostering growth and excellence in the automotive retail operations sector.
