ABOUT THE ROLE
YMCA South Australia is seeking highly motivated, passionate and professional individuals to join our Lifeguard team at The Valleys Lifestyle Centre. At the Y, our lifeguards protect, inspire and help thousands of South Australians feel safe and supported at our sites all year round. Here, you’ll play a bigger role than just being a poolside supervisor, you’ll also be a role model and a community builder.
This is a casual position, working approximately 15 hours per week across a mix of morning, midday, and afternoon/evening shifts. A current lifeguard certificate is not required to apply and we will consider applicants who are committed to completing the certification. Key duties include:
Supervising pool users actively to ensure safety at all times
Identifying risks and respond to incidents or emergencies promptly
Delivering first aid and emergency response when required
Promoting safe aquatic practices and positive patron behaviours
Maintaining pool operations, equipment setup, and safety compliance
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Successful candidates will also have, or be willing to obtain:
Pool Lifeguard certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Valid HLTAID011 Provide First Aid and HLTAID009 Provide CPR (or willingness to obtain)
RRHAN-EC Masterclass (or willingness to complete)
Strong communication skills and commitment to safety
