The Opportunity

As a Cook, you’ll assist with preparing high-quality, nutritious meals that enhance the daily lives of our residents. Working in a supportive environment, you’ll follow menu plans, dietary requirements, and food safety standards, whilst having the opportunity to build meaningful connections with residents.

We are currently opening Expressions of Interest (EOI) for Casual and Part-time Cooks and Chefs to join our team across our Southside and Bayside Aveo retirement communities. Apply today, let us know your availability and we will contact you when a position becomes available.

Your Impact

Prepare, cook, and present meals that meet quality and presentation standards
Follow pre-set menu plans while accommodating dietary needs and preferences
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen in line with food safety requirements
Support stock control, food storage, and waste minimisation practices
Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Build meaningful connections with residents, fostering a sense of community and belonging

What you'll bring

Previous Kitchenhand, Cook or Chef in a similar setting (e.g. hospitality or commercial kitchens)
Ability to follow set menus and adapt meals to meet dietary requirements
Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in connecting with residents
Enthusiasm for working in retirement living and making a positive impact
Minimum of two (2) COVID-19 vaccinations (required)
Certificate in Commercial Cookery (or similar) and/or Food Safety certification (desirable)

What we offer

Part Time Rate: From $29.98/hr + superannuation + relevant award entitlements including penalty rates, overtime and allowances
Casual Rate: From $37.48/hr + superannuation + relevant award entitlements including penalty rates, overtime and allowances
