Legal Practice Support Manager (Prosecutions)
The Legal Practice Support Manager (Prosecutions) is responsible for the coordination and operational management of multidisciplinary prosecution support services, including paralegal, clerical and administrative teams, contributing to the delivery of high‑quality, timely and compliant legal support. The role requires flexibility and breadth to support multiple functions within Legal Practice Support and works closely with the Assistant Director, Legal Practice Support (Prosecutions), senior leaders and operational teams to support efficient service delivery, implement priorities, assist with change initiatives and promote continuous improvement.
Legal Practice Support Manager (Trials)
The Legal Practice Support Manager (Trials) is responsible for the coordination and operational management of trial support services within Legal Practice Support, contributing to the delivery of high‑quality, timely and compliant legal support. The role focuses on operational efficiency, service standards and effective stakeholder engagement across the ODPP.
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Legal Practice Support (Trials), the position works closely with senior leaders and operational teams to support agreed priorities, implement organisational initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement in business processes and operational practices to support effective service delivery.
To be successful in this role, applicants will need to demonstrate:
- Operational coordination, leadership and service delivery capability: Ensures the effective management of paralegal, clerical, and administrative support within legal support services to deliver high‑quality, timely and compliant outcomes, and represents Legal Practice Support on internal working groups, committees and relevant external forums.
- People management and team leadership skills: with experience supervising staff, managing workloads, supporting performance and development, and fostering a supportive, inclusive and professional work environment aligned with public sector values.
- Sound understanding of legal practice and procedure: with the ability to apply this knowledge to support prosecution workflows, service standards and operational priorities.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills: including the ability to build effective working relationships, represent the business area on various forums, and resolve complex operational matters through constructive, evidence informed approaches.
- Capability to support operational planning and continuous improvement: including contributing to business and workforce planning, identifying risks and improvement opportunities, and supporting the implementation of process, policy, system and service enhancements.
- Ability to support change and organisational initiatives: working collaboratively with senior leaders to implement agreed improvements, maintain operational continuity and align service delivery with ODPP priorities and future directions.
- Commitment to ethical practice, safety and accountability: including compliance with the ODPP Code of Conduct and Public Sector Code of Ethics, promotion of workplace health and wellbeing, and demonstration of ODPP values in all dealings.
This position is classified at Level 6 and is designed as a senior, high-performing role within that classification, encompassing a broad and evolving scope of operational and strategic responsibilities. Applicants who can demonstrate the capability to contribute at a higher level, including leading complex initiatives and supporting strategic priorities, will be strongly regarded.
