Excavator Operator – Civil Earthworks

Sunshine Coast, QLD | Local Work

CMTL Group is currently seeking an experienced Excavator Operator for ongoing civil earthworks projects across the Sunshine Coast region.

This is a local position offering consistent Monday to Friday work with a reputable civil contractor. The successful candidate will have proven experience operating 20–35 tonne excavators and be confident using Trimble GPS systems to complete detailed excavation works.

$55 – $60 per hour (depending on experience)
Monday to Friday roster
Ongoing local work

Please note: No accommodation is provided. This position is suited to local candidates or those willing to relocate at their own expense.

Key Responsibilities

Operating 20–35 tonne excavators
Detailed excavation and final trim works
Installation of drainage infrastructure
Rock breaking and excavation
Bulk and detailed earthworks
GPS machine control operations using Trimble systems
Reading plans and working to set levels and specifications
Conducting pre-start inspections and daily maintenance checks
Maintaining a safe and productive work environment

Essential Requirements

Proven experience operating 20–35 tonne excavators
Strong Trimble GPS machine control experience
Experience with:
Drainage works
Rock breaking
Final trim
Detailed excavation
General earthworks
White Card
Current Driver's Licence
Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship

Desirable

Civil construction experience
Roller, Loader or Dozer tickets
HR Driver's Licence
Experience on subdivision or infrastructure projects
