About the role:
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated leader to join Our People – Development as the Education Support Services Unit Manager, within the Quality Education Division (QED).
QED plays a critical role in building the skills, capability and confidence of Victoria Police employees to effectively lead and positively influence the community. Through high‑quality training and ongoing development programs, Our People supports Police Officers, Protective Services Officers (PSOs), Police Custody Officers (PCOs), Prior Policing Service (PPS), Frontline Support Officers (FSOs) and Victorian Public Servants (VPS) from induction through every stage of their career.
This branch is a proactive, research‑led capability focused on preparing recruits and serving members for future operational environments. It is central to shaping education strategy that drives operational excellence.

Your duties will include:
- Leading the strategic integration of proactive policing education across Victoria Police

Leading and supporting team members to deliver exceptional education services.

Provide high‑level program and branch management, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities

Influence strategic decision‑making through evidence‑based insights and stakeholder engagement

Work collaboratively with education managers, operational leaders and key stakeholders to enable education and training initiatives

Drive sustainable improvements that enhance workforce capability and readiness
About You:
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:
-
Demonstrated experience working in a Registered Training Organisation with an understanding of the AQTF and VRQA standards.

A working knowledge of adult learning principles to inform education consultants and educators regarding best practice.

An ability to create, maintain and improve compliance record keeping systems, for example for educator files, student files and curriculum repositories.

Demonstrated experience leading a team and building the capability of team members.

Experience in building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders is highly valued.

A degree or higher qualification, appropriate to the relevant discipline area, or equivalent accreditation and standing is mandatory.
