Permanent Full Time commencing Term 1, 2027

Established in 1998, Penrith Anglican College seeks to nurture and develop empowered learners with

strength of character who know and follow Christ and serve others. Throughout its history, the College

has established itself as a place of academic rigour and care, producing graduates who reflect the

continued, strong enrolment growth across the College as we increase the number of streams in

Primary and Secondary.

Position Title Technologies Teacher

Department Technologies Department

Award/Agreement Remuneration, duties and conditions will be as per the Independent
Schools NSW (Teachers) Co-operative Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2025
(or as revised).

Status Permanent Full Time

Reporting Head of Technologies and Director of Studies

Key Working Technologies Department, Secondary Directors/Executive Staff, and
Relationships relevant Head of House.

Teaching Load The teaching load will be determined annually by the Principal and will
reflect the learning, wellbeing, cultural, community and administrative
responsibilities of the role.

Role Summary

Technologies Teachers are responsible for designing and delivering innovative teaching programs

aligned to Penrith Anglican College Learning Culture, policies, and practices. This role will ideally

include teaching Stage 4 Technology Mandatory, Stage 5 and Stage 6 Food Technology, and Stage 6

VET Hospitality. Technologies Teachers are committed to continuous improvement and the pursuit of

excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Demonstrate ongoing practice that meets the Australian Professional Standards of Teachers.

Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the NSW syllabus documents for Technologies

Stage 4 to 6, teaching timetabled classes as required.

Ability to teach some combination of Stage 4 Technology Mandatory, Stage 5 and Stage 6

Food Technology, and Stage 6 VET Hospitality. Ability to teach Textiles and Design would be
an advantage.

Develop, implement, and evaluate teaching and learning programs that incorporate

differentiated strategies to meet the specific learning needs of students across a range of

abilities, including the development of literacy and numeracy skills.

Adhere to all curriculum expectations and deadlines as set out by NESA and the College.

Align teaching practices and curriculum with the Christian faith.

Incorporate the language and habits associated with the College Learning Culture within regular

classroom practice, establishing high expectations and empowering students to develop as

reflective, relational, resilient, and resourceful learners.

Gather NCCD-related evidence as part of ongoing processes and structures.

Create and maintain a positive and engaging learning space for the students.

Establish and maintain effective classroom management and discipline practices to ensure

students are safe and supported as they learn.

Incorporate strategies to promote the safe, responsible and ethical use of ICT.

Ensure meaningful and effective assessment practices to inform programming, teaching and

reporting.

Provide regular and timely feedback to students and their families regarding progress,

achievements, behaviour, and application using accurate and reliable records.

Critically engage in professional learning to update knowledge and practice.

Support and promote the College’s pastoral care and wellbeing programs, diverse co-curricular

programs and extra-curricular events such as but not limited to involvement in carnivals, camps,

excursions, co-curricular activities, and events.

Lead a Mentor Group with students from Year 7 to Year 12.

Attend meetings, parent-teacher interviews, events, and playground duties as required.

Implement relevant programs, policy, and legislative requirements, including the College’s

Code of Conduct, to ensure student wellbeing and safety.

Take part in compliance training as required.

Undertake any other duties as directed by the Principal.

Extensive skills in the use of ICT, particularly Microsoft programs, CANVAS and Edumate (or

a willingness to be trained in these platforms).

Highly developed organisational and planning skills.

Attitude of continuous improvement, completing all tasks with diligence.

Demonstrated passion and enthusiasm for education.

Demonstrated ability to be reliable and responsive to needs within a dynamic school

environment.

Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with a range of

people, including staff, students, parents, and community members.

Ability to work autonomously or collaboratively as a productive and creative member of a team.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and always represent the best interests of the College.

Qualifications/Accreditation

Relevant qualifications (from an approved and recognised tertiary institution) in Education and

Technologies such as:

A Bachelor of Education (Secondary – Technology and Applied Studies)

A Master of Teaching with relevant undergraduate degree.

Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) and Certificate III in Hospitality

Be accredited with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)

A valid WWCC number

First Aid Certificate (if applicable)
