About the role:
As a Trainee Ranger, you’ll undertake a comprehensive two-year development program designed to equip you with the skills, knowledge, and qualifications required to transition into a fully qualified Ranger.
Working alongside experienced Rangers, you’ll help ensure community safety, compliance with local laws, and positive outcomes for residents and visitors. This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same.
What you’ll be doing:
Community Safety and Compliance - assist in enforcing local laws and relevant legislation, support investigations and contribute to preparing reports, evidence and court documentation.
Field Operations - undertake patrols across the city, maintain the City’s animal management facility and participate in inspections and incident responses.
Customer Service and Community Engagement - provide advice to the public, support community education and represent the City in a positive and professional manner.
Administration and Systems - maintain accurate records and update compliance systems, assist with correspondence, reporting and data entry.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- A genuine interest in community safety, law enforcement, or regulatory services.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Good judgement, integrity, and a fair-minded approach.
- Confidence working both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and commit to a 2 year fixed term contract.
Pre-employment requirements:
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence
- National Police Clearance not more than six months old
- Proof of right to work in Australia
- White Card
