The City of Busselton is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Compliance Officer – Residential Pool Barrier Inspector to join our team. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, engaging with the community, and applying legislation to help keep residents safe.

About the role:
This position plays a vital role in ensuring residential pool barriers across the City meet legislative safety requirements - helping to protect families and prevent accidents.
You will be responsible for coordinating and delivering the City’s pool inspection program, working with homeowners and stakeholders to achieve compliance, and supporting broader compliance functions relating to planning, building, and local laws.
This is a dynamic role that combines inspections, customer engagement, administration, and regulatory enforcement. This is a full time position, however flexible working hours or part time can be considered.

What you’ll bring to the role:
- Strong ability to interpret and apply legislation
- Well-developed communication (written and verbal) skills
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Confidence using computer systems and databases
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and manage conflict
- A practical, fair, and solutions-focused approach to compliance
Pre-employment requirements:
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence
- National Police Clearance not more than six months old
- Proof of right to work in Australia
