Job description:

Our Future Focus is dedicated to providing exceptional support services to families. We are currently seeking a compassionate and motivated Support Worker.

About the Role:
As a confident Disability Support Worker with 2+ years of experience, you will be supporting young participants with their post-school life. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in someone's life by working in a true partnership, helping them to discover themselves, build confidence, and develop alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) skills. You will also play a key role in fostering lifelong friendships and exploring new interests. The position involves working on a close to 24-hour roster, including night, day, and weekend shifts. You will work closely with a team of therapists and their families. Our Future Focus is a small boutique company that supports individuals to set up a service for 1, emphasising a family-governed and directed initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide support to young participants in various aspects of daily life
All aspects of personal care
Assist in building confidence and developing AAC skills
Facilitate the formation of friendships and relationships
Explore and engage in new interests and activities
Work collaboratively with therapists and the family
Maintain regular and consistent attendance

Qualifications and experience preferred, but not required (company encourages and supports qualification acquisition at the employee's own cost)

Roster times:

Mon-Sun from 06:00am to 09:00pm and occasional sleepovers.
