We are currently seeking a Full Time Demi Chef to join our Culinary team.
Your Day to Day
As a Demi Chef, your passion for food, creativity, and attention to detail will help bring our culinary experiences to life. Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will be part of a dynamic and talented kitchen brigade dedicated to delivering exceptional food experiences across The Fireplace, Cove Café, Verandah Restaurant & Bar, Lagoon Beach Club, and our extensive Meetings & Events operations.
This is an exciting opportunity for an emerging culinary professional who is eager to develop their skills in a large luxury resort environment, gaining exposure to a variety of cuisines, cooking styles, and service operations.
In this role, you will:

Prepare and present high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines.

Support the delivery of Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner services across a variety of dining outlets and event spaces.

Work across multiple kitchen sections, gaining exposure to à la carte dining, premium restaurant service, banquets, and casual dining concepts.

Assist senior chefs with the preparation and production of menu items while maintaining consistency and quality.

Ensure all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards of taste, quality, and presentation.

Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment at all times.

Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation requirements, including HACCP principles and procedures.

Support stock rotation, inventory control, and the minimisation of food wastage.

Collaborate with colleagues across the Culinary team to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.

Contribute ideas, creativity, and enthusiasm to support menu development and innovation.

Participate in training, development, and learning opportunities to further enhance your culinary skills.

Uphold IHG brand standards, policies, and values in all aspects of your work.
What We Need From You
Ideally, you'll bring:

2-3 years' experience in a professional kitchen environment.

Previous experience within a hotel, resort, premium restaurant, or luxury hospitality setting.

A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent culinary qualification.

Knowledge of food safety practices and experience working with HACCP or similar food safety systems.

A genuine passion for food, creativity, and hospitality.

Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering quality dishes.

Excellent time management and organisational skills.

The ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.

The ability to work collaboratively within a team and take direction from senior chefs.

Flexibility to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

A current Australian Driver Licence.
