Where you'll be working
Ryde Hospital

Ryde Hospital is having an incredible $479 million complete hospital redevelopment that will transform the delivery of healthcare for the Ryde local community.

The Ryde Hospital Redevelopment will result in new health facilities and enhanced services including emergency, ICU/critical care, inpatient units, outpatient/ambulatory care services and much more.

Construction commenced in early 2023, and will provide you with a wonderful and exciting opportunity to be part of the Ryde team to change the future health services for the Ryde Community completely.

What you'll be doing
The Patient Liaison Officer plays a pivotal role in promoting the use of private health insurance by providing accurate and timely information about using private health insurance in a public hospital.
The position is to provide support, advice and mentoring to other Emergency Department admission team members and General Admissions to ensure a standardised approach to private patient election and other classifications. The role provides support to the Senior Patient Liaison Officer and Revenue Manager in training admissions staff and implementing strategies that maximise revenue through the admissions areas.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

Explain the importance of the patient admission process – what elements and steps do you identify that are critical to performing the process well. Please incorporate in your response what is means to use private health insurance in a public hospital

Strong communication skills are important in this role, how do you ensure your message or the information you are providing is clearly understood?
