Joondalup Education Support Centre (ESC) is an Independent Public School providing specialist and individualised educational programs for students from Kindergarten to Year 6 with intellectual disabilities and special educational needs.
Dedicated staff teach a range of quality programs which are specialised, individualised, and specifically tailored to each student's individual needs and abilities. Teachers and Education Assistants are highly trained and competent to support students with intellectual disability, sensory impairment, physical disabilities, challenging behaviour, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The Role
As a Library Officer, suitable applicants would supervise the day-to-day operations of the library and oversee the provision of reference, information, and associated services to teaching staff and students. You will ideally also support staff in the selection of resources to ensure the library’s collection meets curriculum and recreational reading needs. A key part of this role would be to promote reading and engagement with literature across the school community, helping to foster a lifelong love of learning among students.
You would be responsible for administering library systems to ensure records are accurate and up to date, and for ensuring that library resources are processed, maintained, and readily accessible to students, staff, and parents at all times. Suitable applicants will ideally have good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. They should be confident in using a range of computer software packages and library management systems, and demonstrate a proactive, organised approach to supporting both students and staff in a busy and dynamic school environment.
