About the Role

As a Senior Coordinator within our Parks & Operations team, you’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional public spaces that meet the needs of a growing and active community. You’ll lead a dedicated team, work closely with stakeholders, and drive strategic initiatives that enhance how our parks and facilities are used and enjoyed.
What You’ll Be Doing
No two days will be the same; you’ll lead a passionate team responsible for the care and improvement of our parks, sportsgrounds, and recreation spaces. You’ll work closely with the community, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure our facilities are safe, well-maintained, and meet the needs of everyone who uses them.
In this role, you’ll lead a team responsible for delivering high-quality parks and operations that meet the needs of the community. You’ll work closely with internal teams, contractors, and community stakeholders to balance priorities, ensure services are delivered to a high standard, and contribute to key programs like Active in Ryde.
You’ll oversee service performance and budgets, prepare reports and communications for Councillors and stakeholders, and manage park-based facilities including occupancy agreements. The role also involves implementing and improving plans, policies, and processes, as well as tracking performance across maintenance and service delivery.
As part of a broader leadership team, you’ll represent Council on relevant committees, support advisory groups, and contribute to major projects such as playground and sports field upgrades. You’ll also work closely with asset management teams to plan and maintain Council’s park infrastructure, while contributing to special projects that enhance community spaces.
About you
You’re a people-focused leader who enjoys working collaboratively and delivering outcomes for the community. You’re organised, proactive, and comfortable managing a mix of projects, stakeholders, and priorities.
In addition, you will also have:
- Current NSW Class C driver’s licence
- Degree in Leisure Management, Sport and Recreation or Recreation Management or similar, or have significant relevant experience.
- Experience in managing public land and/or facilities.
- Demonstrated experience in co-ordination of services undertaken by others for sportsground, parks and associated facilities and negotiating positive outcomes when there are competing interests from multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in leading, managing and coordinating a small team and managing budgets.
- Experience in the delivery of programs and/or events to the community
- Proven ability to organise work in a safe manner and at a professional level including knowledge relevant legislation.
- Experience with capital works and completing noncapital projects.

Your commencing annual salary will range from $108,604.71 to $141,186.12 + Superannuation + Leaseback Vehicle.
