In this role, you'll:
Work within our Bus Fleet Management Team within the Public Transport Branch of the Coordinator General division at Transport for NSW, with a focus on providing senior technical leadership to optimise the performance, reliability and sustainability of the Transport bus fleet.
This role will see you going out into the field to see our operators and working with them as you look at our assets and provide feedback to our stakeholders. This will include periodic inspections of buses and any modifications that are needed.
You will drive continuous improvement programs through the implementation of improvement frameworks, benchmarking and innovation initiatives as well as provide specialist advice to procurement and contracts teams to ensure fleet performance, warranty and data requirements are embedded in commercial arrangements.

About you
Your tertiary qualification will be in a relevant discipline, ideally in mechanical / electrical, together with extensive experience relevant to the role.
You’re recognised for your good knowledge of the bus industry, with a background in buses or heavy industry and have a current Heavy Vehicle License.
In addition to this, you are a good communicator who can influence outcomes and deliver improvements without direct line authority in a complex technical and operational environment.
This full-time position located in Sydney CBD, with most of the role based in the field at depots that are mostly in the metropolitan area but could occasionally see you go to Newcastle or regional based locations, when required.
