About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Team Leader - Aquatic Operations, you'll oversee the day-to-day delivery of swim lessons and aquatic programs, ensuring they run safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard.
A typical day might involve supervising swim instructors, coordinating rosters and timesheets, monitoring program participation, liaising with parents, schools and program participants, and stepping in to handle incidents or customer concerns as they arise. You'll also contribute to the growth of the Swim School program by supporting quality lesson delivery and helping retain and grow our current membership base.
You'll have real opportunities to shape how our aquatic programs are delivered — from providing input into policies and procedures, to training and upskilling staff, to identifying new initiatives that grow participation. You'll work closely with the Leisure Leadership team and be part of a team that takes real pride in providing a safe, welcoming environment for staff, members and guests.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced aquatics professional who enjoys leading a team, solving problems on the go, and making a genuine impact on community health and wellbeing.
This is a permanent part-time opportunity (65 hours per fortnight).
Remuneration for part time hours begins at $66.7K to $76.1K (Band 5) plus superannuation.

About You
We're looking for an experienced aquatics professional who is passionate about safety, service and developing others, and who enjoys working collaboratively as part of a close-knit team.
You'll bring:
- Demonstrated experience at a similar supervisory level within an aquatic and leisure environment, with a strong understanding of pool operations and aquatic safety requirements
- Sound knowledge of swimming instruction, stroke technique and water safety education, along with first aid, resuscitation and rescue techniques
- A proven ability to lead, train and support a team, including performance monitoring and on-the-job coaching of swim instructors
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with participants, parents, schools and colleagues, and to resolve customer concerns fairly and calmly
- Sound judgement and the confidence to take control in a safety-critical situation
- Good computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office and facility management software (such as Perfect Gym / Links / Xplor.
- A flexible, approachable and positive approach, with a genuine commitment to leading by example
You'll also need to hold, or be able to obtain:
- Current AUSTSWIM (or recognised equivalent) qualification – Aust Swim, Swim Aust or LSV Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety
- Pool Lifeguard qualification
- Current CPR Certificate
- A valid Victorian driver's license
- A National Police Check and Working with Children Check
