Senior Software Engineer – Fleet Space Technologies (Australia)

Fleet Space Technologies is an Australian space technology company developing advanced satellite communications, AI, and geospatial exploration solutions. Its innovative technology helps mining and exploration companies discover critical minerals more efficiently and sustainably.

About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable software solutions that power Fleet Space's satellite, cloud, and geospatial platforms. Working with cross-functional engineering teams, you'll build reliable, high-performance systems while contributing to technical leadership and product innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test, and maintain cloud-based applications, APIs, and backend services.
Build scalable, secure, and high-performance software solutions.
Integrate software with satellite systems, IoT devices, and cloud platforms.
Collaborate with AI, DevOps, and product teams to deliver new features.
Troubleshoot complex technical issues and optimize system performance.
Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical planning.
Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
Maintain technical documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in backend software development and distributed systems.
Proficiency in languages such as Python, Go, Java, C++, or Rust.
Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, REST APIs, microservices, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development practices.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Experience with satellite, IoT, AI, or geospatial technologies is advantageous.
