Role Purpose
Reporting to the VIC State Manager, our Fleet Coordinator will play a key role in both the State Operations team and the National Fleet Management function. You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and oversight of our Traffic Control fleet, equipment, and signage assets. Our fleet includes passenger vehicles (primarily utilities), as well as medium and heavy trucks.
This is a hands on, high impact role where you’ll work closely with depot teams across VIC and a range of suppliers to keep our fleet safe, compliant, and operational. Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating fleet maintenance and servicing schedules.
- Maintain accurate and up to date fleet documentation to meet regulatory, safety, and compliance requirements.
- Ensuring safety and compliance standards are consistently met.
- Managing fleet costs within budgets.
- Manage the administration and security of Fuel Cards, Toll Tags, IVMS units, and accident repair processes, ensuring accurate records, timely updates, and efficient incident resolution.
- Achieving key operational KPIs.
- Prepare and deliver regular fleet performance reports, highlighting key metrics, trends, and operational insights.
- Minimising downtime so frontline teams can meet client needs.
You’ll be based at our Yarraville depot, with opportunities to travel to regional locations as required. The role is available for an immediate start and includes access to a depot vehicle, toll tag, and fuel card for work purposes. From time to time, you’ll also respond to after-hours breakdowns or support intrastate fleet needs.
We are a company on a strong national growth trajectory, and we’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us. If you’re driven, proactive, and enjoy solving problems on the move, you’ll fit right in. You’ll be supported by a team of people who are passionate about what they do and equally committed to delivering successful outcomes.
If you’re ready to take the next step in your fleet career and join a team that values initiative, teamwork, and continuous improvement — we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Bring:
- Fleet Experience: 2+ years’ experience in fleet maintenance or management (ideally across 50+ vehicles).
- Technical Expertise: A trade qualification in an automotive field (Mechanic, Auto Electrician, Body Builder) is highly desirable.
- Supplier & Stakeholder Skills: Proven ability to manage suppliers, negotiate outcomes, and resolve issues effectively.
- Heavy Vehicle Know How: Hands on experience with commercial and heavy vehicle repairs is a strong advantage.
- Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of HVNL legislation, national registration requirements, and experience with cost and compliance reporting.
- Analytical Strengths: Strong problem-solving skills, solid computer literacy, and the ability to communicate clearly with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Proactive Mindset: A self-starter with a can do attitude who can prioritise, work independently, and thrive in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Licensing: Hold — or be willing to obtain within two months — a minimum HR licence.
