Daracon are seeking an experienced Commercial Coordinator to join our Commercial team. Based in the Newcastle region, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of a broad range of civil construction projects, supporting commercial outcomes and working closely with project teams across the business.
About the Role
As a Commercial Coordinator within our Commercial team, you will play a key role in supporting the commercial and contractual delivery of civil construction projects across Daracon Group. Working closely with Project Managers, site teams and subcontractors, you will be integral in ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
This role requires consistent engagement with both internal and external stakeholders, including operational teams, clients and subcontractors, to facilitate clear, timely and professional communication across all phases of a project.
Key responsibilities include:

Manage and coordinate a team of project-based Site Administrators including an office-based Contract Administrator and Purchasing Coordinator

Maintain a range of commercial agreements ensuring currency in consultation with both internal and external stakeholders

Manage and coordinate internal interfaces among the Group Companies

Compliance monitoring of vendor claims ensuring compliance with commercial process and executed agreements

Supporting the broader commercial team in managing competing priorities and meeting key reporting timeframes

Attending project sites on an ad hoc basis across Newcastle, the Central Coast and Singleton regions, as required

Assist and manage commercial system continual improvement
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring proven experience in a Commercial Coordinator or similar commercial role within the civil construction, engineering or building industry. You will have a strong understanding of contract administration processes and be confident working across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
You will demonstrate:

Proven experience in contracts administration, including the preparation, negotiation and execution of agreements

A sound understanding of Security of Payment legislation

Working knowledge of Australian Standards and NSW Procurement standard forms of contract commonly used in the civil construction industry

Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in managing documentation and registers

The ability to manage competing priorities and meet critical deadlines in a dynamic commercial environment

Sound problem-solving skills, with confidence in decision-making and the ability to exercise judgement appropriately

Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, enabling you to work effectively with clients, subcontractors and internal teams

A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office with the ability to produce clear and professional documentation

The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a project team

Experience and a working knowledge of CHEOPS an advantage
