Full Job Description

Haileybury welcomes applications for the role of Finance Officer to join our Finance team. This is a Part-Time, Fixed- Term position (0.6 FTE), commencing 20 July 2026 and concluding 29 October 2027. It is preferred that the 0.6 FTE is worked across a five-day week, however this is flexible and can be discussed during the interview process.

The Finance Officer will play a key role in supporting the Senior Accountants to ensure the financial records of the school are accurate and efficiently maintained.

Key Responsibilities

As the Finance Officer, you will:

Perform daily bank reconciliations.
Receipt and process incoming payments, including application fees, tuition fees and fundraising income.
Process donations and prepare donor receipts for the Haileybury Foundation.
Provide financial support to Haileybury Parents and Friends groups.
Monitor and respond to Finance inbox enquiries.
Prepare month-end journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
Maintain supplier master data within the creditors ledger.
Review, reconcile and upload credit card acquittals to the accounting system.
Maintain and reconcile petty cash accounts.

Year 12 or equivalent.
Intermediate/advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
Finance experience (desirable).
Strong interpersonal skills.
Excellent organisational skills including the ability to meet deadlines.

An understanding of the need for complete commitment to confidentiality.
Ability to form a rapport with staff and build collaborative working relationships.
