About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Full Stack Developer to join our dynamic team at Codex Consulting. As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and implementation of innovative web applications that drive the success of our clients' businesses. This is a full-time position based in our Melbourne office, with the opportunity to work in a collaborative and supportive environment.

What you'll be doing

Take ownership of the full software development lifecycle, from conceptualisation to deployment
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, project managers, and other developers, to deliver high-quality, user-centric solutions
Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and efficient web applications using the latest technologies and best practices
Implement front-end and back-end functionality, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance
Continuously research and stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, trends, and industry best practices
Mentor and guide junior developers, sharing your expertise and knowledge to help them grow
Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring the smooth operation of our clients' applications

What we’re looking for

Minimum 5 years of experience as a full-stack developer, with a proven track record of delivering robust and scalable web applications
Strong proficiency in modern frontend development using TypeScript and frameworks such as React
Experience developing backend services using technologies such as Node.js, Python, or similar, with a focus on scalable API design
Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, responsive design, and modern UI development
Experience designing and consuming REST and/or GraphQL APIs
Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) including schema design and query optimisation
Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, clean code principles, and secure software development practices
Experience with Git, code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines
Familiarity with cloud-native development, preferably on AWS, including containerised applications
Experience working in Agile delivery teams and collaborating with designers, product managers, and other engineers
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
A passion for continuous learning and adopting new technologies and engineering practices

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.

Nice to have

Experience with AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, and API Gateway
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
Experience with authentication technologies such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and identity providers like Okta or Auth0
Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code etc.
Exposure to geospatial applications, data engineering, or AI/ML solutions
