About the Role:
Modbury Hospital is looking for an experienced registered nurse ready to step into a leadership role that directly shapes the quality of care delivered to patients navigating complex, ongoing health needs across Adelaide's northern suburbs.
Your Role in the Continuing Care Team
As Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you will work alongside the Nurse Unit Manager to lead the day-to-day clinical operations of the Continuing Care Team (CCT) at Modbury Hospital. This is a full-time, ongoing position embedded within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN).
Provide clinical leadership and supervision to nursing staff, supporting consistent, evidence-based care delivery
Coordinate patient flow, discharge planning, and continuity of care across inpatient and community-facing pathways
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, audits, and accreditation activities within the unit
Act as a visible, accessible resource for your team during shifts, modelling safe and person-centred practice
What You Bring
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
Demonstrated experience in a continuing care, subacute, or complex care nursing environment
Proven ability to lead and support a multidisciplinary team in a busy hospital setting
Sound understanding of discharge planning, care coordination, and patient flow principles
Commitment to NALHN's safety culture and the SA Health clinical governance framework
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage patients, families, and colleagues with clarity and care
To be eligible for this position, you must be Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.

In this role you will have strong interpersonal and communication skills which will enable you to successfully problem solve, resolve conflicts and negotiate, including the ability to engage in difficult conversations, whilst building and maintaining relationships. An ability to effectively manage multiple, diverse and competing priorities and demonstrated resilience within a stressful and complex environment is essential to this role.

NALHN provides a range of hospital (inpatient), outpatient, community and home-based services across multiple sites in Adelaide’s north and north-eastern suburbs, including Aboriginal health, mental health, and GP services.
Lyell McEwin Hospital – the major hospital in northern Adelaide for emergency care, complex and multi-day surgery, medicine, obstetric, paediatrics and outpatient services.
Modbury Hospital – a general hospital with emergency care, elective surgery, medicine, outpatient and sub-acute services, rehabilitation, geriatric and palliative care.
