To provide the latest in video production technology on a wide variety of projects, we house an impressive and varied inventory of LED Screens, Projectors, Video Switchers, Media Servers, Portable Production Systems and Cameras. We are seeking an experienced Crewing Coordinator to work in our Sydney office, managing crew requirements on local, state-wide, and national projects. The ideal applicant will have experience in scheduling technical teams and coordinating related administration within the Live Events or Broadcast industry.
The Role
Reporting to senior management in the Sydney office location, the Service Manager will oversee a small, experienced team of service technicians responsible for the inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of our extensive rental inventory.
This is a hands-on role and works closely with the Warehouse Manager, Equipment & Operations Coordinator, technical & warehouse teams to ensure equipment availability, operational readiness, and efficient workflow across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and support a small team of service personnel.
- Manage the servicing, maintenance, testing, and repair of video, broadcast, and production equipment.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules.
- Work closely with the Warehouse Manager to coordinate equipment turnaround and availability.
- Prioritise repair and service activities to meet rental commitments and customer expectations.
- Maintain accurate service records and equipment history using the company ERP (Easy Job).
- Coordinate repairs and liaise with manufacturers and suppliers, create purchase orders for all service and repair work to keep track of costs.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and workplace safety requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve service processes, efficiency, and equipment reliability.
- Support equipment evaluation, asset management, and lifecycle planning.
- About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience managing or supervising a technical service team.
- Experience working with professional video, broadcast, AV, production, or rental equipment.
- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively with warehouse and operations teams.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- A commitment to quality, customer service, and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems and service tracking processes is desirable.
- Ideal Qualifications (Desirable, Not Essential)
- Certificate II or III in Electronics; or
- Certificate III in Electrotechnology; or
- Equivalent technical qualification or relevant industry experience.
- Additional manufacturer training or certifications related to video, broadcast, AV, or production equipment would be highly regarded.
