The Registered Nurse (RN) role is an integral member of the multidisciplinary health care team that meets the diverse needs of patients using contemporary professional best practice standards. The RN applies advanced risk assessments, plans interventions, and delivers care that is safe, appropriate and clinically effective.
The role of the RN incorporates the following but not limited to: unsupervised clinical practice, patient advocate, supervision and mentorship / preceptorship, counselling, interaction / liaison within a team as well as accurate and timely documentation.
Base salary from $76,868 - $107,956 (Registered Nurse Level Year 2-8 based on experience) + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging via Maxxia to maximise your take home pay (including venue hire, meals, entertainment and novated leasing).

Macquarie University Health is seeking a permanent full-time Registered Nurse to join our Angiography Unit at Macquarie University Hospital. Our Angiography Unit undertakes a full range of cardiac studies and interventions, including diagnostic angiograms, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), pacemaker implants and structural heart disease treatments including percutaneous valve replacement. With faster recovery times and outcomes at the forefront of private image-guided healthcare, you will be part of a team that is setting new standards in cardiac procedural care.
This is more than a clinical role, it is an opportunity to practise in an academically integrated environment where research, education and clinical excellence converge. Extensive training will be provided, and once established within the department, you will have the opportunity to cross-train across complementary roles, broadening your skill set and career trajectory.
About the Role
As a Registered Nurse within our Angiography Unit, you will:
Deliver expert, evidence-based nursing care to patients undergoing a range of cardiac and interventional procedures.
Assist with diagnostic angiograms, PCI, pacemaker implants and structural heart disease interventions in a high-technology environment.
Assess, plan and implement preventative and therapeutic care approaches for patients pre-, intra- and post-procedure.
Collaborate with cardiologists, cardiac technicians and the broader multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, patient-centred care.
Mentor and support junior nursing staff and students, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice aligned with our academic mission.
Cross-train in complementary roles such as Cath Lab Cardiac Technician once established within the unit.
This permanent full-time position offers you the chance to join a specialist team at the forefront of private interventional cardiac care in an academically integrated setting.

You are a skilled and motivated Registered Nurse with sound knowledge in Angiography, Cath Lab or Cardiac nursing. You thrive in a fast-paced procedural environment, bring strong clinical assessment skills, and are eager to continue developing your expertise within a supportive, high-performing team.
Selection Criteria
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
Minimum of 2 years' experience working in Cath Lab, Angiography and/or Cardiac nursing.
Willingness to cross-train in roles such as Cath Lab Cardiac Technician.
Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to establish professional relationships with peers, patients and the multidisciplinary team.
Well-developed computer skills including the use of electronic medical records systems, Microsoft Word, Excel and web-based research.
Demonstrated ability in assessing, planning and implementing preventative care approaches to healthcare.
Proven ability to prioritise and multitask in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating critical thinking, initiative and the capacity to work independently and within a team.
