About the opportunity

In this role, you'll manage and support non-production test environments, ensuring they are secure, stable and available when teams need them most. You'll coordinate deployments and patching, troubleshoot environment issues, and work across complex applications and integrated workflows to keep projects moving. Success will be measured by environment availability, effective outage communication, on-time delivery, and rapid issue resolution, making this a great opportunity for a technically minded problem solver who enjoys working with diverse stakeholders.

This Environment Manager acts as the key link between development, operations, QA and business teams, facilitating triage activities, resolving issues and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This person will lead end-to-end triage planning and continuous improvement activities, while maintaining clear documentation and providing guidance on release and environment management processes.

You’ll also

Ensure our development and testing environments are available, accessible, secure, and up to date, for use by various programs, projects, minor works, training and BAU.

Plan, coordinate, and support software deployments by the application support teams, ensuring minimal disruption to testing services and other test environment users.
Shape and maintain a fit-for-purpose development and testing environment roadmap that enables successful project delivery and testing services.
Drive strong testing governance through well-managed environments that uphold application security and data protection standards.
Partner with vendors to bring the latest platform features and capability into Australia Post. Provide feedback, manage vendor tickets and lead vendor engagement on behalf of platform users

About you
We are looking for someone with the ability to communicate complex information clearly, coordinate competing priorities, and keep stakeholders informed of plans, risks and outcomes will be key. Those stakeholders include all Project stakeholders requiring Non-Production Environment Services. You will need to be able to influence the building of stakeholder confidence in the health of non-production environments. Externally there are times you will collaborate with suppliers and vendors during project delivery phases.

You’ll also need

Experience working in large complex organisations as an Environment Manager. Retail, Banking, Logistics, Telco, Insurance or Postal industry experience are transferable environments.
Significant enterprise or government environment management experience
Experience with ITIL incident, request, change and conflict management processes, and how to advocate the consistent usage of these processes
Experience building & enhancing monitoring and logging capabilities using tools such as New Relic and Sumo Logic, with the ability to move seamlessly between high-level environment insights and detailed root-cause investigation
Technical knowledge in SAP, ORACLE and Microsoft applications. A deep understanding of Internet working and application dependency mode
Strong hands-on triage and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to quickly identify issues, clearly articulate impacts, and drive effective resolution across complex systems and workflows
Broad technology knowledge of the systems that exist in the non-production environment including applications, Cloud (AWS or equivalent), Databases and Networking
