About the role:

We have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic Patient Support Coordinator with strong administrative skills to join us at Montserrat Medical Services on a casual basis.

MMS opening hours are Monday to Friday 8am-6pm, no weekends or public holidays.

This role is well suited to medical practice administration staff who want to join a dynamic team.

About Montserrat Medical Services:

Montserrat Medical Services is a respected, privately owned specialist medical practice with over 25 years of experience supporting leading specialists across Queensland . We provide high-quality consulting and procedural services in fields such as gastroenterology, and general surgery—delivered through modern, patient-friendly clinics.

Our focus is on providing comprehensive, personalised, and exceptional care to our patients, utilising a team approach from our doctors, nurses, and administration support staff.

Duties and responsibilities:

This role will see you working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary healthcare team to support patient care needs and deliver exceptional clinical outcomes.

Ensure a high level of patient and visitor care and service, acting as the first point of contact
Handling patient bookings and enquiries
Manage patient billing and receipting
Make appointments for procedures, prep appointments and consults
Manage practice arrangements for multiple doctors and businesses
Manage patient data and paperwork, ready for admissions
Undertake banking and EFTPOS procedures
Requires an experienced healthcare administration officer

About You:

You have a genuine passion for providing world-class patient care and adding value to Australian healthcare. You will have:

Strong experience in an administrative role within a medical practice setting
A high level of computer skills particularly Microsoft Office and Patient/ Practice Management Software
An understanding of the Medicare and Private Health Insurance billing systems
Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with patients, doctors and staff
Strong organisational skills and a high level of drive
Adaptability and flexibility to support the patient's needs
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritise and manage urgent requests calmly and efficiently
Sound knowledge of medical terminology
Ability to multi-task with great attention to detail
Flexibility to work across business opening hours rosters - 8am to 6pm
