With a commanding land position and clear strategic growth, we’re building something significant and this is your chance to be part of shaping the future of a growing gold operation.

We are currently seeking an Alternate Open Pit Manager to join our team at the Lord Byron open pit operation. Reporting to the Quarry Manager and working an 8/6 roster, this role is ideally suited to a technically strong Senior Mining Engineer looking to progress into a statutory leadership position.

As the Alternate Quarry Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

Acting as 2IC to the Quarry Manager, you will assume full operational control of the mine on swing
Oversee and guide the development of mine plans across various scheduling horizons (Short term, medium term) using Deswik to optimise production, cost and pit development
Oversee day-to-day quarry operations, including drill & blast execution, loading/hauling, stockpile management and contractor performance
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, safety systems, environmental obligations and site procedures
Drive operational improvement initiatives, including productivity, cost control, and technical optimisation across pit design, sequencing and execution

About You

Tertiary qualification in Mining/Civil Engineering or related discipline.
Strong technical capability in mine planning and design, including proven experience using Deswik (CAD, IS, Scheduler)
Statutory certificates (or ability to obtain) appointment as Alternate Quarry Manager under WA WHS legislation (Quarry Manager’s Statutory Certificate and Site Senior Executive)
Demonstrated experience in hard rock open pit operations with previous D&B experience
Experience with drill & blast, and load & haul contractor management (desirable)
