Position Title: Labourer / Carpenter's Assistant
Employment Type: Full-Time (4-Day Work Week)
Working Hours:
- Monday to Wednesday: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Thursday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Labourer to assist our carpentry team on transportable home projects. The successful candidate will work closely with qualified carpenters, supporting daily operations, maintaining safe work practices, and helping ensure projects are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist carpenters with construction, installation, and finishing tasks.
- Load, unload, and transport building materials, tools, and equipment.
- Prepare and maintain work areas, ensuring they are clean, organised, and safe.
- Measure, cut, and assemble materials under the direction of carpenters.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Assist with site setup and pack-down activities.
- Perform general labouring duties as required.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet project deadlines.
Skills and Experience:
- Previous construction or labouring experience preferred but not essential.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual handling tasks.
- Basic understanding of construction tools and equipment.
- Driver's licence and reliable transport preferred.
