The Role
The successful candidate will become a member of a hardworking and committed team who can provide strong leadership, stakeholder engagement and contractor management expertise.
You will be responsible for:
Serve as the key site liaison for the contract haulage provider, overseeing day-to-day contractor management
Monitor contractor performance to ensure alignment with production targets and contractual obligations
Conduct performance reviews and drive improvement initiatives to address gaps and enhance outcomes
Coordinate haulage operations with Mining, Planning and Technical Services teams to maximise productivity and fleet efficiency
Ensure contractor personnel, equipment and operating practices support delivery of the mine plan
Manage contract administration, including compliance reporting, variations, claims and issue resolution
Review and endorse contractor procedures, risk assessments and operational management plans as required
Lead regular operational meetings with contractors and internal stakeholders to maintain alignment and performance
Promote compliance with site safety standards, systems, procedures and critical controls while supporting incident investigations
Monitor haulage costs, contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs
About You
Reporting directly to the Manager – Mine Operations, this role would suit a detail-oriented and process-driven professional with strong contractor management, stakeholder engagement and operational leadership skills.
You will also have:
Extensive experience within open pit mining, mining logistics, contract mining or bulk haulage operations
Proven success managing contractors within large-scale mining environments and driving performance outcomes
Strong understanding of haulage operations, fleet management, production planning and contractor management principles
Demonstrated experience managing operational budgets, contract expenditure and cost performance
Sound knowledge of safety, environmental, quality and risk management systems, including critical controls
Well-developed analytical skills with the ability to interpret operational data and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Strong understanding of Western Australian mining legislation and contractor management requirements
Proven leadership capability with experience influencing multidisciplinary teams, contractors and key stakeholders
Highly developed communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across all organisational levels
Current C Class Driver's Licence
Successful completion of approved WHS Risk Management training for statutory supervisors
Evidence of successfully passing applicable legislative examinations for statutory supervisors
