Full Job Description

What’s the role?

As a Manager, Financial Services, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy and confidence of Westpac’s financial reporting. Sitting within Financial Services in the Finance Division, your work will support group‑wide financial control and accounting, including month‑end close, balance sheet governance and statutory reporting.

You’ll lead financial accounting and reporting activities at scale, partner closely with onshore and outsourced teams, and support both business‑as‑usual performance and strategic initiatives that strengthen controls and improve service delivery.

This is a Sydney‑based role with hybrid working , supporting our Group Business Units and the Westpac Foundation.

What do I need?

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

Demonstrated experience in financial control within the financial services industry, supported by completion of a professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA or equivalent).
Strong technical financial accounting capability, with experience across month‑end close, journals, reconciliations and balance sheet review
Working knowledge of financial control concepts essential; experience with audit advantageous.
Proven ability to manage and lead onshore and outsourced teams, underpinned by strong communication skills, consistently maintaining high standards of quality and control.
A continuous improvement mindset, with the confidence to identify, implement and embed service and process enhancements

If you’re a qualified accountant (CA/CPA or equivalent) with strong financial control experience in financial services, a passion for continuous improvement, and a proven ability to lead and collaborate across onshore and offshore teams, we’d love to hear from you.
