Join Deaf Connect as a Team Leader, Interpreting Qualifications and play a key role in shaping the future of interpreter education in Australia. Working within our Education team, you will lead the planning, delivery and continuous improvement of nationally recognised Interpreting qualifications while fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration and innovation.
About the role:
As our Team Leader, Interpreting Qualifications, you will lead and support the delivery of high-quality Interpreting programs, ensuring they remain compliant, accessible, responsive to student needs, and aligned with industry expectations.
Working collaboratively across the organisation, you will drive quality outcomes, workforce capability, student success and continuous improvement while supporting the strategic growth of Deaf Connect's education services.
This is a hands-on leadership role that combines program delivery, workforce management, content design support, stakeholder engagement, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
Lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of Interpreting qualifications and programs.
Recruit, support, mentor and develop Trainers, Assessors and Tutors.
Monitor program performance, student outcomes and quality indicators.
Coordinate workforce planning, onboarding and professional development activities.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure high-quality learning experiences and student support.
Drive continuous improvement, compliance and industry engagement initiatives
About you:
In your application, let us know if you have these key skills and experience:
Experience working within the VET sector and/or a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and Auslan and/or Interpreting qualifications.
Certified Provisional Auslan/English Interpreter credentials.
Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to build capability, engage teams and drive positive outcomes.
Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
A commitment to quality, continuous improvement and inclusive education practices
Highly regarded:
Experience as a Trainer/Assessor or Tutor.
Five or more years' experience as a working interpreter.
Certified Professional Interpreter accreditation.
Experience using Moodle, aXcelerate or other Learning Management Systems
