TRANSPORT & LOGISTICS MANAGER (SYDNEY BASED)

About You
To support the delivery of this tournament, we are now seeking an experienced Transport & Logistics Manager to lead the planning and delivery of transport operations. This role sits within Tournament Operations and is critical to ensuring seamless, safe and efficient movement of teams, officials, stakeholders and workforce across all venues, airports and accommodation sites.
More specifically we are seeking a dynamic team player that can deliver on the following core pillars:
Transport Planning & Strategy

Lead and contribute to the development, review and implementation of the NWC2027 Tournament Transport Plan.
- Plan for Arrivals & Departures; liaising with airports to determine transport procedures, parking procedures, load zones, and priority services.
- Ensure transport and logistics planning aligns with operational requirements, venue operations, schedules and stakeholder movements.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of transport and logistics policies, procedures and operational guidelines.
Operational Delivery & Coordination

Planning and delivering safe and efficient transport, parking and logistics operations across all competition and non‑competition venues (training sites, accommodation, airports and any other operational sites).
- Managing Arrival & Departures operations (including parking) at Sydney Airport (& Western Sydney International Airport).
- Fleet management & allocation as required.
- Plan load zones, parking bays, and updating route plans.
- Ensure schedules and dependencies are accurately recorded, and in line with operational needs.
- Ensure sufficient contingency planning is completed for the pre-arrival and tournament phase.
- Participate in transport testing events, rehearsals and operational readiness exercises.
- Identify all transport and logistics risks and dependencies and put plans in place to manage and mitigate these.
- Actively manage operational risks and support issue resolution with minimal disruption to tournament delivery.
Integration & Stakeholder Engagement

Work closely with the Travel & Accommodation Services team to ensure seamless integration of air, accommodation and transport functions.
- Work closely with the Sydney airports to ensure seamless integration of procedures and guest journeys into service levels.
- Build and maintain strong effective working relationships with transport and service providers, venues, and authorities.
Workforce & Volunteer Management

Assist in the recruitment and selection of the tournament time transport & logistics team, and volunteers.
- Provide day‑to‑day leadership, coordination and support to assigned transport staff and volunteers, ensuring consistent service delivery and adherence to NWC2027 standards.
What you will bring

Minimum 2 years proven experience managing and delivering Transport and Logistics Operations for large or complex events.
- Demonstrated high‑level experience in Australian transport and traffic management, operations, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong background in major event operations, with an understanding of transport, fleet management and movements, parking and logistics delivery across multiple venues (match/non-match).
- Strong communication and demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and external parties.

Additional Information
Reporting into the Tournament Operations Manager, this full-time role will be based at Sydney Olympic Park, on a fixed-term basis through to September 2027. Given the unique nature of the sports industry, and the domestic & global reach of our organisation, travelling and working outside of Netball HQ and traditional office hours may be required from time to time. The Netball World Cup Sydney 2027 (NWC) is the pinnacle tournament for the sport and occurs every four years. It brings the top 16 teams in the world together over 10 days, with teams competing across pool stages and finals to be crowned World Champion. In 2027, the NWC will be held in Sydney, Australia from 25 August to 5 September.
