Mechanical Design Engineer – Vehicle Modifications & Automotive Engineering

Location: Wetherhill Park, NSW

About Us

Gilani Engineering is a leading provider of vehicle modifications, accessibility solutions, and custom automotive engineering services. We are looking for a skilled and innovative Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing team and contribute to the design and development of vehicle modification systems.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop vehicle modification systems using CAD software.
Create detailed engineering drawings, manufacturing documentation, and assembly instructions.
Design custom brackets, mounts, frames, and structural components.
Collaborate closely with fabrication and installation teams to ensure design feasibility.
Perform engineering calculations, design validation, and problem-solving activities.
Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation.
Support projects from concept development through manufacturing and production.
Assist with continuous product improvement and new product development initiatives.

Requirements

Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Proficiency in SolidWorks and/or Autodesk CAD software.
Experience in designing fabricated, welded, and structural components.
Strong understanding of automotive systems and engineering principles.
Ability to create detailed manufacturing drawings and technical documentation.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in automotive engineering or vehicle modifications.
Knowledge of sheet metal design and fabrication processes.
Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and structural analysis.
Familiarity with manufacturing and production environments.
