In this role, you'll:
Join a high-performing team responsible for delivering and evolving Transport's enterprise data and analytics platforms that enable critical reporting, analytics, operational insights and decision-making across the organisation.
You will play a key role in designing, developing, supporting and continuously improving enterprise-scale data and analytics solutions hosted on Azure and related cloud technologies.
As a senior member of the team, you will act as a technical leader and trusted Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing architectural guidance, establishing engineering standards and supporting projects and business stakeholders in delivering secure, scalable and reliable data solutions.
You will:
Lead the design, development and implementation of enterprise data and analytics solutions that meet business and operational requirements.
Provide technical leadership and SME guidance across the EDAS platform portfolio, including Azure analytics services, Databricks, Azure SQL, Data Lake, Data Factory(ADF), Power BI and related technologies.
Design and maintain platform architectures, frameworks, standards, governance controls and best practices to ensure consistency, security and operational excellence.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, project teams and stakeholders to translate business requirements into practical and sustainable technical solutions.
Support and manage enterprise data platforms hosting multiple business-critical analytics and data solutions.
Provide technical oversight for solution onboarding, data integration, reporting and analytics initiatives across the Transport cluster.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance platform reliability, security, performance, supportability and cost optimisation.
Mentor engineers and developers, promoting modern engineering practices, knowledge sharing and technical excellence.
Work closely with security, infrastructure and operations teams to ensure compliance with enterprise architecture, governance and operational standards.
Evaluate emerging data, analytics and AI technologies and recommend opportunities to improve platform capability and business outcomes.

About you
You are an experienced and passionate technology professional with strong expertise in enterprise data and analytics platforms and cloud technologies.
You have a proven track record of designing and supporting complex solutions within large-scale enterprise environments and are comfortable providing both technical leadership and hands-on engineering expertise.
You are recognised as a trusted advisor who can engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, solve complex problems and drive delivery of high-quality outcomes.
You will bring:
Strong experience designing, developing and supporting Azure-based data and analytics solutions.
Experience with technologies such as Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Power BI and related Azure services.
Deep understanding of data platform architecture, data integration patterns, governance, security and operational support models.
Experience establishing technical standards, frameworks, reference architectures and engineering best practices.
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence technical decisions and collaborate across multiple teams.
Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers and guiding solution design activities.
A passion for continuous improvement, innovation and delivering enterprise-scale technology solutions.
