Position - Motor Mechanic (General)

Location – Erindale, SA 5066

Salary - $78,000 - $85,000 plus superannuation per annum

Employment Type - Full-time, Permanent

THE ROLE:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Motor Mechanic who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and reliable automotive services. Working within a busy automotive environment, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, servicing and repairing a broad range of motor vehicles while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high professional standard.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

· Inspect vehicles and identify mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment and testing procedures.

· Perform scheduled servicing and routine maintenance in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.

· Diagnose, repair and replace worn or faulty mechanical and electrical components.

· Repair and maintain engines, transmissions, suspension, steering, braking and other vehicle systems.

· Perform routine maintenance including oil and filter changes, brake servicing and other general mechanical repairs.

· Test, adjust and road-test vehicles following servicing and repairs to ensure correct operation and confirm faults have been rectified.

· Use workshop tools, diagnostic equipment and machinery safely and effectively.

· Maintain accurate records of servicing, repairs and work performed.

· Identify additional maintenance or repair requirements and communicate these appropriately to relevant staff and customers.

· Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment.

· Follow workplace health and safety procedures and relevant automotive industry standards.

· Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure vehicles are serviced and repaired efficiently and to a high standard.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

· Relevant automotive qualification, such as a Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis (or agreed equivalent).

· Minimum of 1 year (preferably more) post training experience working as a Motor Mechanic in an automotive workshop environment.

· Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical vehicle faults.

· Sound knowledge of vehicle systems, servicing procedures, workshop tools and diagnostic equipment.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.

· Ability to work both independently and effectively as part of a team.

· Good organisational and time management skills.

· Strong communication and customer service skills.

· Current Full Australian driver’s licence - ESSENTIAL.

· You must have unrestricted working rights to work full time in Australia to be eligible for consideration.
