What you’ll do

Specification Influence: Engage proactively with mining companies, design engineers, EPC contractors, and project stakeholders before tenders are released to influence project specifications in favor of Weir Wear Solutions products.
Tender Management: Identify and secure tender packages early in the project lifecycle, ensuring competitive, commercially attractive submissions are compiled, managed, and submitted on time.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with mining company head offices, engineering consultants, and project teams to develop project opportunities and influence decisions during the design stage.
Sales Strategy: Apply a consultative and strategic sales approach focused on specification selling, relationship building, and commercial influence rather than transactional sales.
Collaboration: Operate as an active member of the Wear Solutions Sales Team, contributing to cross-functional business issues and supporting team objectives.
Travel Requirements: Primarily Perth-based with regular face-to-face meetings with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders; occasional travel may be required to support business needs.

What you’ll bring

Must-haves:

Proven experience managing tenders, bids, or project pursuits with a strong understanding of the tender process and bid management.
Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and shape project specifications before tender release.
Background in technical sales, project sales, specification sales, or business development with strong consultative selling skills.
Exceptional English communication skills, including the ability to present effectively and write business correspondence and reports.

Nice-to-haves:

Previous experience with wear solutions products such as Linatex rubber, hoses, piping, and wear protection/lining solutions.
Familiarity with mining industry operations and project lifecycle stages.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, and CRM systems.
Resilience, persistence, and strong closing ability in sales environments involving both warm leads and occasional cold calling.
