We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support the Administrative Manager in implementing and maintaining company administrative policies and procedures to ensure smooth daily operations.
This role involves coordinating office activities, managing documentation, scheduling meetings, and liaising with various departments. In addition, the position provides Chinese–English translation and interpretation services to support effective communication within the management team and across the organization
Your key responsibilities will include:
(1) Translation & Interpretation & simultaneous interpretation

Provide daily Chinese–English written translation for mining project-related materials, including but not limited to documents, contracts, reports, and official correspondence.

Deliver interpretation services during meetings, business negotiations, and internal communications, including consecutive interpretation and, when required, assisting with simultaneous interpretation-related tasks.

Review and proofread translated materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with mining industry terminology and company standards.
(2) Secretarial & Documentation Support

Assist with comprehensive secretarial duties, including drafting meeting minutes, organizing and maintaining files, compiling reports, and ensuring effective internal information flow.

Support document control and information management in accordance with company procedures.

Assist in tracking action items arising from meetings and supporting follow-up communication where required.

Coordinate the preparation, formatting, and submission of official documents and reports in both Chinese and English.
(3) General Administration & Coordination

Assist in site administrative management, including daily administrative operations, implementation of company policies and procedures, and internal coordination.

Support the organization and coordination of meetings, reception activities, and external communications with relevant stakeholders.

Act as a communication bridge between Chinese and local/expatriate staff on administrative and operational matters.
(4) Logistics & Support Services

Assist with logistics and support functions, including office administration, staff accommodation and living arrangements, and external liaison support.

Provide general administrative and operational support to ensure smooth day-to-day site operations.

Assist in coordinating logistics arrangements for visitors, business trips, and site-related activities.
The ideal candidate will have:

Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Languages, or a related field.

Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant work experience in administration, translation and interpretation

Fluency in Chinese and English (written and spoken) is required.

Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.

Willingness to work in Brokopondo on a rotational schedule of 5 days of work followed by 2 days off.

A valid proof of good conduct (‘Bewijs van goedgedrag’) will be required upon selection.
