About the roles
Eastern Health is seeking exceptional clinical leaders to join our General Medicine leadership team in two newly established Clinical Director positions: General Medicine- Access and General Medicine- Progression of Care.
These pivotal senior medical leadership roles sit within a high-performing department that delivers a significant volume of inpatient and ambulatory services across Eastern Health. Reporting to the Clinical Services Director Acute Medicine, you will provide clinical, professional and strategic leadership to support the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care through multidisciplinary teams across Box Hill, Maroondah and Angliss Hospitals.
Role focus
Clinical Director General Medicine – Access: Lead strategies that optimise patient access, admission pathways and patient flow through the Emergency Department and General Medicine services.
Clinical Director General Medicine – Progression of Care: Lead initiatives that enhance care coordination, address barriers to discharge, and improve the progression of care and outcomes for admitted patients.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Fellowship of the relevant Australian specialist college, with demonstrable relevant knowledge and experience in a relevant specialty
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
Demonstrated high-level leadership, medical engagement and change management skills
Demonstrated experience managing multiple health professions and a commitment to excellence in the provision of health services
Demonstrated ability to develop and successfully implement creative solutions to complex systemic and organisational problems
Strong record of experience within a large, complex healthcare organisation
Demonstrated clinical and management experience in acute or subacute services as well as multi-disciplinary models of care
Demonstrated expertise in workforce and budgetary management
Demonstrated ability to lead high performing teams and individuals and address under-performance issues as they arise
Current driver’s licence
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
