seeking enthusiastic and experienced Coal Driller Assistants to join team our working in the Bowen Basin Region. We offer training opportunities, including Nationally Certified training, working with a fleet of new Boart Longyear LF160 rigs, enjoy an even time 2:2 roster giving you that work life balance, you will also receive a competitive shift rate with bonus eligibility and leave entitlements.

This role is FIFO from Brisbane with meals, accommodation and flights paid for. Local DIDO workers are encouraged to apply.

Want to know a bit more?

Safety first with involvement in daily pre-start equipment checks, general maintenance, completion of safety documentation and compliance with safe work practices
Operate ancillary equipment including onsite trucks
Assist to set up/dismantle/move drill rigs and equipment
Assisting with loading and unloading heavy vehicles
Follow Safe Work Instructions
Add/remove drill rods/augers and other downhole tools
Clean drill rigs, vehicles, equipment, and tooling
Assist in routine maintenance on drill rigs, equipment, vehicles and tools
Assist with mixing drilling fluids and cement as required
Maintaining adequate water supply for drilling operations
Assist in maintaining the drill site, drill rig, vehicles, ancillary equipment and work area

A few things we’re looking for:

HR Drivers Licence (essential)
Current First Aid & CPR or willing to obtain
Ability to provide a satisfactory National Police Clearance
Certificate II / III in Drilling Operations
Section 11 Inductions completed (highly desirable)
Previous experience in the Drilling industry
Demonstrated personal commitment to working safely
Be a team player with good interpersonal skills

All candidates will be required to submit a recent National Police Clearance with their application, and be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical, including Coal Board medical.

This is a FIFO field-based role that partners with operational leaders to manage EHS risk in the workplace, through implementation of our EHS management systems and programs. Building a successful relationship with our customers is crucial in delivering a strong EHS culture in the field.
