Job Impact

We are seeking professional and customer-focused Security Officer to deliver high-quality security services. In this role, you’ll help maintain a safe and secure environment through proactive surveillance, access control, incident response, and stakeholder engagement.

About the role

Play a key role in keeping people, assets, and facilities safe. As a Security Officer, you’ll deliver frontline security through patrols, monitoring, access control, and incident response—while always providing a professional and customer-focused presence.

Job Location: Across Canberra CBD

Negative Vetting Level 1 required

Contract: Permanent full time

Shift Pattern: Day and Night shift available

Key responsibilities:

Primary duties include and not limited to:

Conduct routine patrols and security checks
Perform alarm response and incident management
Maintain control room and site security operations
Monitor CCTV, alarms, and security systems
Identify and respond to suspicious behaviour or incidents
Maintain accurate surveillance records
Escort visitors, contractors, and personnel
Monitor movement of goods and deliveries
Respond to security breaches and alarms
Support emergency evacuation and incident coordination
Liaise with emergency services when required
Complete accurate reports and documentation
Ensure compliance with procedures and regulations

About You

Must have Security Licence, Classification 1A (Unarmed Guarding)
Valid First Aid Certificate (3 years validity) with current CPR Certificate (1 year validity)
Experience in Gallagher
Ability to clear an Australian Police Check
Strong communication and customer service skills
Excellent observation, problem-solving, and reporting abilities
Confidence using security systems and MS Office
Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
Experience with CCTV, alarms, and access control systems
